A chance encounter. many moons ago in Santa Barbara, California leads two Chicagoans to serving up hot dogs in Austin, Texas. Here is our tale of fate, romance, and delicious food! Both Brian and Teri Jones were born in the Chicago-area, and met when going to college in California. Life's trials and tribulations eventually brought both to Austin, Texas. Teri taught middle school social studies for 10 years in Austin, and now works in Special Education. Brian had a long career in sales, but was looking for something more... something closer to his heart. One night, while brainstorming the next steps in both of their careers, they zeroed in on life's shared simple pleasures: Vienna Beef hot dogs and Chicago Cubs baseball. They decided it was time to bring these reminders of their childhood in Chicago to their new home here in Austin.
Long name... Let's face it- it's a mouthful (of hot dogs)!! There is a cute, short story behind it though... The Chicago Cubs play at Wrigley Field, in the neighborhood of Wrigleyville, in Chicago. They have their annual Spring Training at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona, which has been nicknamed "Wrigleyville West." If there is going to be a Cubs themed food trailer in Austin, Texas, well then, naturally it should be named: Wrigleyville South." There ya' have it folks!
The once bustling scene of Rainey Street, is now pretty barren. You can actually park on Rainey Street right now!
Chicago-style food trailer located in the Rainey Street Food Truck Park. Our menu features Vienna Beef hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, Maxwell Street Polish Sausage, as well as some Texas favorites such as Chili-Cheese Dogs and Frito Pie.
